English oddities

I have always been facinated by the word "nothing". I love the way it is used in advertizing ... "nothing works better than ..." or "nothing beats ..." If you read it in a certain way, it would seem that nothing is the best choice. If nothing beats a Toyota, then I guess I want "nothing". You see the point. Just one of those oddities of the English language.

Haha. I never looked at it that way, but you are very right. It seems like the kind of thing that would be put in a zucker movie.

Yes, I believe the Zuker's would find a way to use it. I think the implied phrase that gives the correct English meaning is "There is nothing that [is, performs, works, etc] better than ...". Just goes to show how marketing folks screw up the language.
